You've come to the right place. At SAYBL we are firm believers of supporting our local youth.

Qualities we're looking for....

• Must love basketball
• 14 years and older
• Effective communicator
• Confident and fair
• A good knowledge of basketball play, rules, and regulations 
• Friendly and approachable
• Eager to learn
• Able to work with with peers and adults
• Available to attend referee clinic Saturday, November 1st.
• Available Saturdays, from November to middle of March

Each weekend we support over 15 games in St. Albert ranging from U11 to U17 in both boys and girls divisions.

We start the season with a Referee Clinic, supported by EBOA(Edmonton Basketball Officials Association), who provide a great opportunity to learn how to referee and advance your knowledge of basketball. Education is important and we aim to support and improve referees:

• Rule knowledge,
• Court Presence,
• Floor Mechanics, and
• Game Management.

All first year referees begin in the lower divisions, as their confidence grows the challenges of higher divisions will be presented. 

Refereeing is not for everyone but we do our best to provide everyone the opportunity to find out.
